Yosemite has been under a flood warning, now a watch, with the river relatively high (not a record by any means, not a record for this time of year, but water in the meadows).
Then there are the drivers — what is it about a Handicap permit that makes drivers believe they don’t need to read signs, such as: No Motorized Vehicles. A car on a bike path is not good. I don’t think the ranger ended up stopping them for driving on the bike path, but the ranger did stop them (I think it was for driving in the “authorized vehicles only” lane (reserved for the shuttle bus and other such vehicles) — it made our early afternoon (especially after being almost run over by the same car on the bike path). Given where they were, there is no excuse other than (1) the permit is due to blindness or (2) they are totally obnoxious idiots. It was not an easy mistake to make, they had to work at it and anyone who has ever driven knows that roads are wider than the bike path. I’ll go with the obnoxious idiot interpretations. (My camera was safely tucked away or I would have a picture.)
