Pictures are not always what they seem

First there is the report on the new Lady Liberty Stamps (see
e.g. the LA Times Story) (they come in a roll paired with Flag
stamps). The stamp was based on a photo taken in Nevada, not New
York. At least they got the first 2 letters of the state right. The
problem was that the final depiction kept a few of the differences
from the hotel version of the Statue of Liberty.
If that isn’t bad enough there is now the report on what is really
in the photos illustrating vegan dishes. Just 2 more examples that you must
be careful with photos, especially photos that you select because
they look good. Both images came from Getty Images, but that is only
an indication that Getty Images has a lot of good photos.
